Thelma Compton, 83, Velma Drive, died at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Covington's Convalescent Center following a long illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy (Junior) Marquess officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home. A native of Trigg County, she was born Sept. 2, 1926, the daughter of the late Minous and Una Allen Choate. She had worked as an assistant supervisor for International Shoe Co. She was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school. Survivors include her husband, Loyd C. Compton, and a sister, Helen Hankins, Hopkinsville.
