SLATON-Homer Ray Shorty Donaldson, 86, passed away on Feb. 21, 2015, in Lubbock. Visitation will be at Englunds in Slaton on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, from 2 to 3 p.m. Chapel services will be held at Englunds in Slaton on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at 3 p.m. with Chris Downer officiating. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service. Shorty was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Burkett, Texas, to James Thomas and Gertrude Gray Donaldson. He attended school in Olton, Texas, and moved to Slaton where he married Marion Grey Wilson in Oct. of 1946. Over the years, Shorty worked for Atlantic Oil and Refining Company, was co-owner of Ulysses Irrigation Pipe Company and owner of Donaldson Pump Company.
