PIONEER CITIZEN PASSES AWAY AT NINETY-TWO John B. Hart, a pioneer citizen of St. Francois County, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kay at Desloge at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon of general debility, aged 92 years, 2 months and 22 days. The funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church South, at Desloge by the pastor, Rev Madison Combs, at 2 o'clock, after which the remains were interred in the McHenry Cemetery. John B. Hart was born two miles north of Farmington on July 9, 1826. He was son of the late Michael Hart, a native of Ireland, who located in St. Francois County along with the Murphys in the early part of the century and was one of the county's first sheriffs. John B. Hart was married to Miss Sarah Jane Walker, a daughter of the late Laken Dubart and Elizabeth Murphy Walker, on November 6, 1855. He later spent two years in California in search of gold. ...
