Carra Greenwell Joiner, 87, Clarksville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Sykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 6, 1920, in Stewart County, son of Carra Joiner and Iva Cohoon Joiner. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Bea Phillips, and brothers, DeBoyce Joiner and Raymond Joiner. He worked at Jenkins and Wynne, and Hawthorne Aviation at Fort Campbell. He served in World War II, and was the recipient of the French Consul General Certificate for the Liberation of France. He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church for 56 years. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia Lee (Sanderson)
