Thomas Emery Morris, son of James and Elizabeth Morris was born in Gallia County, Ohio, on July 9, 1862. He came to St. Francois County, Mo., when a young man and lived here until his death, which occurred Sept. 17, 1937, at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 8 days. On Doc. 23, 1897, he was married to Miss Florence Mayes, of near Doe Run, and to them were born eight children. Charles and Amanda (Mrs. John) Swinford preceded him to the great beyond. Those who survive him are Clausin, Jackson, Charlotte (Mrs. Gilbert) Jones, Florence (Mrs. Elmer) Gibson, Barbara (Mrs. Leonard) Price, and Pearl, at home, also his wife. 13 grandchildren also survive him. In 1933 he professed faith in Christ and was baptized by Rev Norman Jackson and remained true to the Lord to the end. Bro. Morris was a kind husband and father, neighbor and friend.
