Edice Ray Smith was born on January 11,1928 in Clarksville, Tennessee and died on August 28, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee, following a long illness. Mr. Smith served his country in the United States Navy. He loved working with people, and providing service to his friends, family, customers, and church. He managed Flagg Brothers shoe stores before becoming a State Farm Insurance agent. He was an Eagle Scout, Scout Master, and Cub Master. A Lutheran, he will be missed by other members of Memorial Lutheran Church of Nashville, First Lutheran Church of Nashville, and the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Myrtle Smith, one sister, Eleanor Horn, a son, Edice Ray Smith, Jr., and his wives, Clara Twomey Smith and Janice Lund Blankenship Smith. He will be mourned and missed by a brother, Harold Smith; a sister, Ann Hamilton; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Dianne, Rand and Beth, Jeff and Ann, and Marty and Pam
