Nancy Wharton, 80, of Amanda, lost her battle with Alzheimer’s on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Inn at Fairfield Village.
Nancy was born May 22, 1934 in Lancaster, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Ruth Clark, who along with her sister Pat (Gene) Battles preceded her in death. In 1951, she graduated from Amanda High School, she was also a proud Ohio State Buckeye (’55). Nancy was a teacher at Amanda Clearcreek and a homemaker, while her life took her many places, Amanda was always her home.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, George “Dick” Wharton, her three children, Staryl Wharton, Scott Wharton, Brent (Michele) Wharton, and her four grandchildren, Heather Wharton, Thomas Wharton, Shawn Wharton and Kiersten (Jared) Bestgen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Inn at Fairfield Village and Fairhope Hospice for the wonderful care they have provided throughout Nancy’s illness.
