William Henry Armbruster, well known retired Flat River businessman, died in Bonne Terre Hospital, Tuesday, August 27, 1957, after a prolonged illness. He was born in Jefferson County, Mo., June 10, 1874, and was a son of the late Lawrence and Christina Burch Armbruster. At the time of his death, he was aged 83 years, 2 months, and 17 day. He was united in marriage to Mattie Sizemore, to which union three children were born, Bernice, James, and John Henry. His wife preceded him in death. On October 10, 1937, he was married to Olie Flieg, who survives with his daughter, Mrs. Bernice Hood, Flat River, and sons James Armbruster, Flat River, and John Henry Armbruster, St. Louis. He also leaves a sister, Theresa, Mrs. Edmund Kerruish of Festus; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and many friends. Mr. Armbruster, who lived here for 50 years, was a salesman for Schramm Grocery Co., and later was a local dealer for Phillips Oil Co. ...
