ANOTHER OLD SETTLER PASSES ON Lyda (Elizabeth) Gill, was born July 12, 1851, and died last Monday, Nov. 4th, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Sam Wirag, in Bismarck, MO. She had suffered a paralytic stroke a week previous to her demise. She was the daughter of Dr. Presley Gill, who was a practicing physician for many years in Lincoln and Montgomery Counties. Dr. Gill was the father of 20 children, 14 by his first wife and 6 by the second. Lyda was the 13th and last surviving child of the first marriage. She is survived by three children of her father's second marriage - Mrs. Etta Pogue of Kansas City, Louis Gill and Mrs. Lucy O'Donnell of Montgomery City, Mo. In 1871 she married William L. Mateer, of Williamsburg, MO. To this first uion were born three children two of whom survive - Mrs. Katie Wirag and C. B. Mateer of Bismarck, MO. She also leaves three grandchildren, Vesta Malwitz, Julia and Clara Wirag, all of Bismarck.
