Samuel Lilly died at Montgomery City, Mo., December 12, 1919, in his 85th year. He was born in Conawaga, Pa., February 16, 1835. He moved to Kansas but remained there only a short time, when he removed to Richmond, Ind., and finally located in San Pierre, Ind., making his home there for many years. He buried his first wife at San Pierre, Ind., and married his second wife, who was Mrs Lyda Mateer (nee Lyda Gill)in Montgomery City in 1916, where Mr. Lilly died. He was buried in Montgomery City December 18 with a requiem high mass celebrated by Rev Father D. J. O'Brien at the Catholic church of the Immaculate Conception. Mr. Lilly is survived by his widow, three sons, Henry J. Lilly of San Blas, Mexico, John M. Lilly, Max, Neb., Samuel T. Lilly, Boise City, Idaho, and one daughter Mrs. A. J. Griffin of LaGrange, Ill., the two latter being present at the funeral
